pumbaa from the lion king has flatulence issues that are beyond his control and is socially isolated and rejected for it. this rejection drives him into the arms of a (male) meerkat. in this post i will discuss the themes of the lion king that represent pumbaa’s inherent queerness and his disability, how it interacts with the savanna, and how him and timon both queer norms and subvert them by making their own rules in their relationship and living outside of a society that rejects them. i will also discuss how pumbaa’s ailment is weaponized later on in the movie, when he defeats the hyenas with an aspect of his identity that had been used against him.

Concept: a bunch of high school Satanists get drunk in the local graveyard and try to conjure a demon, but they’re using one of those “reconstructionist” ritual books that gets its sources all mixed up, so they end up with a minor Mithraic fertility spirit that hasn’t spoken with humans in like 1700 years instead. By the terms of its binding it’s not allowed to leave until it’s ensured a successful harvest for its summoners, which is a problem, because none of these goobers have ever raised so much as a houseplant; if it wants to go home, it’s going to have to teach them how to garden – whether they want to learn or not!

“Five high school sophomores were arrested today on charges of operating an illegal pot growing business behind the Home Depot on I-95. The 200-foot-tall plants, which police could see from their station…”

If you’re in need of ‘faith in humanity: restored’ news, a duck suddenly appeared on a remote island in the Pacific and no one’s sure how he even made it (the closest landmass, New Zealand, is about 1700 miles away) but, like, the entire population is now devoted to the duck’s wellbeing and that’s the first duck they’ve ever seen so they named him and Googled what he eats (not bread!) and built him an artificial pond and now ‘there are concerns he might be lonely’, so there’s talk of importing other ducks to keep him company and yeah, the world is still batshit insane but isn’t this the sweetest thing?

Anyway, meet Trevor.

I dont wanna be that guy bc its awesome that lesbians love hozier but Nina Cried Power is pretty specifically abt civil rights especially in refference to the black civil rights movement like literally its in the title referring to Nina Simone and Frankly if this site wasnt so overrun by white gays making memes abt themselves theres no way that would be so overlooked lol

The wolves at Wolf Park Indiana were given paint as a form of enrichment and as a
fundraiser to make “original wolf art”. Most of the wolves were happy
to step in the paint for a piece of hot dog and make nice paw prints on a
page, but this guy decided rolling in it was way more fun.

I was at the library the other day, and my daughter was playing at the Art Table with two other girls. One of the little girls’ mother was near by and said “Aren’t you girls good little artists!”

And the third girl perked up and said “My dad’s an artist!”

The woman smiled indulgently and says “Oh really, what kind?”

The little girl proudly told her “He’s a tattoo artist.”

And the woman. Oh man. Her face just twists, crumples into something nothing short of disdain, and she opens her mouth and says “That’s not…”

“An easy job,” I cut in, looking the woman in the face because really? You’re going to tell a child her dad’s not a real artist. “In fact it’s very very hard, because that art is alive forever on a person, not like on paper. And that’s scary! You have to be really good, to be a tattoo artist. Your dad must be really, really good.”

what kind of person could just try and crush a little kid like that? goddamn.

Do people not realize that tattoo artists have to know how to draw really well and produce straight precise lines on a moving canvas, and make the right color selection and know how to blend those colors and do proper shading, and a million other art things and no single client/canvas is the same and they have to adjust based on the pigment of the skin and where the person wants the tattoo?! What the hell
