Yo, I really dont think straight people understand that a lot of us were robbed 15-20 years of our lives if you’re lucky and didn’t commit suicide or stay in the closet untik you were in your 30’s, 40’s or later.

Trans culture too. I mean what do you do when a quarter of a century has been stolen from you.

I was at a wedding last week and the 50something year old DJ started playing “Africa” by Toto. Every person under 30 in the room started belting it out and losing their minds with joy and I heard the wedding planner say to one of the older guests, “For some reason Jerry started playing this at every wedding a few months ago and it’s always a hit.”

I’ve never really been big on “relationship goals.” But I’ve been studying Will Smith and Jada’s for years and they’re the closest to goals I’ve ever seen. I’ve read magazine articles, watched interviews and just observed their interactions and tried to apply some of it to my life. The foundation of it seems to be trust, respect, raw and unfiltered communication and being open minded. Can’t really go wrong when you have those things. I wish them the best forever.
