i really wish…i can share the warmth i feel when i’m at synagogue with other people at the least i want non-jews to hear our worship and how beautiful it is i think it would change a lot
if you’ve never heard a jewish prayer please just take a little time out of your day to listen:
When it comes to the whole Don’t Vote movement, the thing is: I get it. I live in one of the most useless areas in one of the most useless states when it comes to any attempt at bipartisanship. I live in an place so red that calling yourself a liberal is bold and edgy and socially dangerous, and just about everyone who claims that title still means that they stop well ahead of like. Keeping gay marriage legal, even. AND even if that weren’t the case, the Mormon church literally just makes the political decisions for our state anyway.
BUT! If nothing else, voting keeps you actively engaged in the process. It’s a regularly scheduled chance to check in on yourself and decide if you’re going to do something or nothing. To see if you’re aware of what’s going on and if there’s anything more you could be doing. And yeah sure, the whole system is rigged, blah blah blah, we’re all aware. But sitting at home and stewing about how unfair everything is is just another form of complacency. Arguing and complaining on the internet unfortunately has a very minimal impact on the actual physical world. Voting is the ground level of activism, it’s the bare minimum. And if you can honestly say you’re spending your days organizing rallies for the movements you believe in, and plotting against the government in an active way to start that communist revolution you’re always talking about, then maybe you really are beyond the vote. But if not then you should give serious consideration to what you’re actually doing for others as the world turns against them, and in the meantime find your polling place here
I don’t even live in Texas but honestly we need politicians like Beto
What’s so great about Beto?
Doesn’t take any PAC money or big donor money period. Left or right. Won’t be beholden to big money interests.
Already pledged to support Bernie’s Medicare for All bill should he win
Legalization of Marijuana, expunging records of nonviolent drug offenders.
He wouldn’t have voted for Kavanaugh, and he would have voted for the Violence Against Women reauthorization.
Expanding of LGBTQ rights.
Public works projects like extending broadband access to rural areas and funding for the rail project between Dallas-SA-Austin-Houston.
Bringing back and protecting the voting rights act.
Increasing money for the VA.
Finding healthy solutions to immigration and the boarder, just like his home town El Paso a boarder town that’s one of the safest cities in the country
Prison reform, ending for profit prisons.
If people under age 35 show up to the polls, Beto can win. There are enough young voters to get rid of Ted Cruz, who is a truly terrible person.
Vote in Texas!!!
You guys gonna let that puckered face bitch Cruz win again?????????????
Young people are the only voters that matter you know those old people who shit in bags ARE ALLL lining up to vote for him. Good Friends don’t let friends not vote shit bags out of office.
