I had a student who was I believe she said 85% deaf, that she could hear a little. We were talking about my daughter who is learning ASL to talk to a friend of hers better and she said that was really good because her parents never took the time to try and learn. This is a woman in college who has been deaf since birth and neither of her parents could take the time to learn to talk to her.
