in her journals sylvia plath wrote, to herself, “goodnight, sweet princess,” appropriating hamlet’s famous epithet. now this means so much to me because countless male writers have drawn comparisons between themselves and hamlet, the character is an icon of glamorous and intelligent suffering. it’s an obvious choice for the male writer because he doesn’t think twice before invoking the highest possible drama and gravity when talking about his own pain. but that type of self importance feels unimaginable to most women. and sylvia breaks this rule. i love her
If you have one terf follower, you are not doing enough to make your blog hostile to terfs and safe for trans women. If you have multiple terf followers, so many that people can take note of how full your notes are of terfs, and you do nothing to get rid of them, then trans women have no reason to give you any benefit of the doubt, especially when you’re also constantly posting thinly-veiled transmisogynist rhetoric.
no offens but people being overworked to death in industries like animation and making video games is a huge issue… like holy shit i’d prefer my favorite anime being delayed or a video game’s release being a bit late if it means people don’t suffer under intense conditions and stress
Fashion industry is this too. Commercialised creativity will always be “balanced” by the money; they have no understanding that creativity is not an infinite fucking well, and needs refilling with breaks.
