i think like no matter how “good” a relationship btwn a mother and daughter is it feels like every mother/daughter relationship is fraught bc mothers usually unknowingly teach their daughters what men have forced down their throats, not even just specifically when it comes to gender issues (although ofc there still is problems with mothers teaching their daughters misogyny as a virtue) mothers teach their daughters guilt and regret and fear because mothers were raised on guilt and regret and fear bc of the men in their households and their lives. it takes a lot for the daughter to not just realize that but to not do that to their daughters if they ever have kids in the future

To put it bluntly, the discipline of economics has yet to get over its childish passion for mathematics and for purely theoretical and often highly ideological speculation, at the expense of historical research and collaboration with the other social sciences. Economists are all too often preoccupied with petty mathematical problems of interest only to themselves. This obsession with mathematics is an easy way of acquiring the appearance of scientificity without having to answer the far more complex questions posed by the world we live in.
