Hey folks! Quick internet etiquette tip from someone who’s been doing this for a while.
If someone blocks you, leave them alone.
I can’t believe I have to say this, but, especially on tumblr, the ‘block’ button is little more than an enforced ‘do not disturb’. Which means that if someone hits that button, they’re asking you not to interact with them. Which means don’t create or use another account to come ask them why they blocked you (in what universe do you think you’re going to like the answer??). Don’t come in on anon to try to talk to them. Don’t, and I cannot fucking believe I have to say this, try to find them on other platforms to interact with them. Unless you’re already good friends and (not ‘or’ – and) you think the blocking might have been an accident, leave them alone. Otherwise, you are at best creeping them out and making them feel like they made the right decision blocking you in the first place.
If someone blocks you, leave them alone.
