Summer Snow to cool you off

doctorbeth:

Many of you probably had stuffed Snowmen when you were younger.  My own introduction to the snowman came when my then boyfriend (now husband) sent color sheets of the snowman in a letter.  I’ve taken care of quite a few by now.  They are originally a velvety fabric and they tend to wear quite thin.  This winter, a Snowman’s person wrote:

“I have a stuffed animal that I’ve had for 24 years and was given to me at birth by my grandma who just passed away. This morning my dog tore into it and the whole front of my Mr. Snowman is now missing. I was wondering how much it would cost to get him repaired and if this is a repair you guys can do.”

Well of course I said yes, please send photos.  One of the photos was Mr. Snowman and the culprit (her dog) in kinder times:

But now Snowman was very ill and sad:

(that’s his rattle in the background on the right).

We decided, given the extent of his injuries, the best treatment would be recovering him in new fabric.  His original self would still be underneath.  This Snowman was a bit furrier than those velvety ones, so we had two fur options to choose from:

The first said his person.  Full recovering, pink nose, three buttons down the front, original eyes and hat.  Here were his approval pics:

Those aren’t holes in the hat, btw, they’re fuzz from the fur.

Mr. Snowman flew home to Southern California and his person wrote:

I just received Mr. Snowman today and I just wanted to let you know I cried of happiness. Thank you thank you thank you for your wonderful work on him!!
