The whole “oh my gods” thing was a phase a lot of people went through as preteens when they were really into a polytheistic religion (usually greek mythology but sometimes egyptian)
And everyone is deeply ashamed of the things they did and said as a preteen
Dont play or pretend like the yikes-ness of it wasnt in part due to the fact that a majority of it came from people in the pjo fandom and people claiming to be polytheistic thru that series alone
But also, every preteen is an idiot so who could blame them
