People can be open and transparent and genuine and honest and really truly trying to be kind and still hurt, manipulate, and abuse people. We have been taught by abusive people, people who were also taught in and by abuse, and it takes a complete and conscious remaking of our relationships and how we interact, to protect who we care about and break our cycles of abuse.
…… When the writer of BERT and ERNIE said he wrote them as gay literally no one was thinking abt the two puppets banging off-screen. it was a CHILDREN’S show. theyre gay bc they loved each other. going off abt asexuality is so weird bc no one was talking abt sexual intercourse in the 1st place!!!! And going off abt how they identified as male but had the bodies of a puppet so therefore they can’t feel sexual desire or WHATEVER is also batshit insane. Be more normal
