Ahhh, tell me more about these posts because now I’m intrigued but I’m also dumb so I can’t recall any.

southpawgrammar1995:

I mean all of the posts implying that all men are inherently toxic, abusive, unloving and emotionally unintelligent while all women are gentle, tender, full of love and emotionally intelligent, as if we’re not all a) members of the same species with very little inherent difference between us and b) all capable of being any of those things regardless of gender. It’s absurd, and more to the point it’s hurtful. It’s hurtful to trans men, who are forced into the same traitor narrative crafted by TERFs. It’s hurtful to men of colour, particularly black men, who are already disproportionately portrayed as violent and dangerous. It’s hurtful to autistic people whose lack of emotional intelligence is framed as a flaw in their morals.

It’s hurtful to male victims of abuse who are terrified of becoming like their abusers.

It’s hurtful to victims of female abusers.

It makes it incredibly difficult for victims of abuse by women and other non-men to recognise that abuse for what it is, particularly if gaslighting is already involved.

It’s frightening for me, as a bi woman who was abused by a woman, resulting in a constant fear of being abused again by a loved one, to be constantly bombarded with this narrative of “all men secretly want to hurt you, and if a woman hurts you we don’t want to know, so have fun!” It’s inaccurate, dangerous, and just fucking stale.
