It’s been said a million times before but being gay is as relevant to your sex life as being straight, which is to say: only partially and definitely privately. Allowing people to assume characters in children’s shows are straight but making statements against their being gay is… so deeply… homophobic.
Bert and Ernie are gay and they vacation to a cabin every summer where Bert tries to fish but Ernie scares all the fish away with his chatter and really it’s ok because they’re in love. They’re ageless but also they’re that old couple that goes to the same coffee shop every morning and argue about their orders even though they never change what they want and then they hold hands across the table.
