I wish it was considered normal to talk to yourself I have things to say

Honestly I wonder if people have ever advocated self-talk as a form of therapy? Like. Out loud. So many people feel like their voices have been stolen away from them after traumatic experiences and I always feel like there’s power in saying things to yourself out loud beyond like, mantra stuff. I just want to have a conversation with me

Like if it’s just me I don’t feel like I have to convince another person of my understanding of things. I get it. Let’s understand on a deeper level of ourselves. Like it’s stupid legitimate ableism like why is society against people talking to themselves

Accents 101

So if you’re a dm like me, you probably want to be relatively skilled in some typical fantasy accents for your game to make things feel that much more real. So i’ve decided to throw together a little master post of “how to” videos on some various accents. This is mostly for my own reference, but if you’d like to save this for yourself too, go right ahead. Feel free to add on to this, as well!

General Accent Tips

Scottish

English or “British”

French

Irish

Russian

German

Canadian

I don’t usually do reblogs but this may come in handy for some of you.

Disclaimer: using accents is NEVER required, but it can add a bit of fun! Don’t feel pressured to adopt one if you aren’t comfy with it!

This is a summary of college only using two pictures; expensive as hell.

That’s my Sociology “book”. In fact what it is is a piece of paper with codes written on it to allow me to access an electronic version of a book. I was told by my professor that I could not buy any other paperback version, or use another code, so I was left with no option other than buying a piece of paper for over $200. Best part about all this is my professor wrote the books; there’s something hilariously sadistic about that. So I pretty much doled out $200 for a current edition of an online textbook that is no different than an older, paperback edition of the same book for $5; yeah, I checked. My mistake for listening to my professor.

This is why we download.

Spreading this shit like nutella because goddamn textbooks are so expensive.

not necessarily art related but as someone who couldn’t afford their textbooks this semester this is a godsend

REBLOGGING because after a little digging, I found my $200 textbook for free in PDF form.

friendly reminder that this exists since I know we’re all going back to college soon

Will reblog every time I see it.

what’s disgusting to me about the professor pushing for that is
-they’re probably getting most of the profit since it’s their book
-since it’s digital they can probably make some minuscule change or grammar edit every year, re-upload it, and push for people to use it.
-digital copies can’t be returned to the college bookstore to get some money back/give the next year students a cheaper cost
-there is literally no production cost since it’s digital it’s all copyright and willy nilly fees at that point. why the fuck is it $200 they’re already paying to attend your course why do they need to pay you even more for your book you greedy shitstain of a professor.

I am of the mind that college and education, in the US at least, is a business first before anything else, and it’s disgusting.
